What would it be like to provide transportation to a senior for events and appointments? What would it be like to bring a smile and companionship to an isolated and frail older adult? What would it be like to be a mentor and role model to a child? What would it be like to bring a Jewish connection to residents of retirement and skilled nursing facilities? What would it be like to share a special talent and experience with older adults?
If you would like to find out, Jewish Family Service is seeking volunteers to make a difference in the community. There are many opportunities where you can bring a connection and sense of caring to those in our own Jewish community.
Make a difference to someone who is lonely and isolated…make a difference to a young boy or girl in need of a Big Friend and mentor…Get involved!

The following volunteer opportunities include:
- Jewish Big Friends/Little Friends - be a positive role model and mentor to a Little Friend.
- Bikur Cholim - visiting the sick.
- Agency Support - assisting the agency with special projects.
- Friendly Visiting & Senior Advocacy- visitations to individuals in-home or in facilities. Immediate needs in La Habra, Anaheim Hills, Fullerton and Laguna Niguel. Spend an hour a week with someone who is isolated and alone. Please help!
- Project Caring - group visitations and programming of Jewish content in retirement and skilled nursing facilities.
- Mitzvah Projects - community service projects for adults, teenagers, especially for bar and bat mitzvah and high school youth.
- Hospice/Bereavement - provide comfort and support to the Jewish terminally ill and their families. Training provided by Jewish Family Service and Vitas Healthcare.
- Board Affiliated Volunteers- Work along side the board of directors on various committees and assist with general tasks.
- Employer/Job Bank Associate/Intern - Identify Jewish business people in the community for the purpose of creating a job bank for JFS clients.
- Marketing Associate/Intern - Assist in creating flyers/brochures and establishing contacts for the purpose of describing agency services and special events to the community..

Be a friend...lend a hand...you can make a positive difference in the life of a Little Friend through the Jewish Big Friends/Little Friends program.
BE A MENTOR
JFS is seeking mentors to provide positive life experience skills and friendship to individuals in our Women Forward/3 Steps to Independence programs.
