Support Groups
The following support groups will assist individuals to address issues such as life changes, anxiety/depression, communication skills, relationships, bereavement and parenting.
Alzheimer's Family Support Group - For family and friends of those with Alzheimers and dementia. The group meets at Jewish Family Service the second Wednesday of each month at 7 PM. To register for this group or for additional information contact Roberta Probolsky at 949-448-9494.
NEW GROUP - BEHAVIORAL TECHNIQUES EMPHASIZED Anxiety/Stress Management Support Group (4 classes) - These classes will help individuals to develop techniques to manage anxiety. Call Marcy Middler for more information at 949-435-3460.
Bereavement - For those individuals who have recently lost a loved one. The group meets at Jewish Family Service.
Cancer Support Group - Support groups facilitated by the Wellness Community to provide emotional support, education and hope to cancer patients and their loved ones. The groups meet at Jewish Family Service on Tuesdays at 12 noon and Thursdays at 11:00 a.m. Call 310-314-2555 for further information.
Moving On From Bereavement- For adults who would like the opportunity to discuss and explore relationships, family issues, communication, new roles and opportunities. The group meets at Temple Judea in Laguna Hills.
Co-Ed Group - Ages 35+- For adult men and women to discuss difficult challenges and feelings in a supportive atmosphere. The group meets at Jewish Family Service.
Passages Women's Group - Ages 40+- This support group for women will assist individuals to address issues around relationships, life changes and passages, adult children/aging parents, family, intimacy, health, and anxiety and depression. The group meets at Jewish Family Service.
You and Your Aging Relative - For adults who are experiencing pressures and responsibilities for the care of an aging parent or relative. The group meets at Jewish Family Service.
JACS—Jewish Alcoholics, Chemical Dependent People & Significant Others—This group meets at Chabad Jewish Center of Mission Viejo. Please contact Rabbi Marcus at 949-770-1270 or Mark Lazaus at 949-888-8463.
