A Five Part Program Offering Comfort, Information and Support to the Jewish Community
The Jewish Healing Center of Orange County assists individuals and families with proper psychological, social, emotional and spiritual support systems when faced with a serious illness or traumatic life event. This program consists of the following five vital components:
- Bikur Cholim (volunteers visiting the sick and disabled)
- Chaplaincy - Rabbi Levi Blesofsky, Community Chaplain
- Support Groups for bereavement and caregiving
- Hospice Visitations
- General Information and Assistance and Social Services
The five elements work together to help individuals and families cope with major life and traumatic events affecting their lives. Counseling through Jewish Family Service is also available to individuals and families.
A Letter to Jewish Family Service
“While I was in Mission Hospital for over two months I was visited by a lady from your Bikur Cholim Society (volunteer visitors to patients in hospitals). It was hard for me to communicate with her during my illness, but my heart was warm every time she appeared.”
