The JFS Women Forward Program is calling for
Volunteer Tech-Mentors
Tech-Mentors are matched with women re-entering the workforce who need one-to-one assistance setting up their computer, learning or practicing specific computer programs such as WORD, Excel and Access and using the internet.
The women are part of JFS' Women Forward program, which helps older women who have recently undergone a major life crisis-such as death or serious illness of a spouse, domestic abuse, or divorce--to update their skills, re-enter the workforce, and achieve long term self-sufficiency.
Most lack the computer skills to compete in today's job market. JFS helps by assisting with tuition for computer courses, linking women with volunteer computer mentors and setting them up with home computer equipment so they can practice their new skills at home.
If you have computer expertise you think would be helpful, please call Marcia Marcinko, Director of Volunteers & Outreach or marcia@jfsoc.org
